Happy 4th of July!

Well, the days of parties on the roof at 16th St are long behind us. So we find ourselves trying to figure out what to do to occupy our 4th of July. Doug was invited to a party by someone at work, but we decided to stay home and relax and make our hot dogs and hamburgers at the apartment. It was definitely low key, which is a big change from our parties of the past! We missed all the excitment, but watching HGTV all day ain't all that bad either.

Always in persuit of beating the system and outsmarting the crowds, Doug figured out a potential fireworks viewing site that didn't involve getting anywhere early or smushing next to strangers. Usually when he figures someplace like that out, it ends up you can't see the fireworks from that spot (hence the no crowds). But, he did it this year! Our crowd-free oasis was on the platform of the F train at Smith and 9th Street. For those of you unfamiliar, it is a spot where the train is above ground and on elevated tracks. And it is only 2 stops away for our house. We were not the only people there, but it was not crowded at all and, surprisingly, you could see the fireworks display quite well!

Doug make a compliation of some movies he took with the camera, which you can see below:

Enjoy!
Hope you had a good 4th!!!
