Courtney's New Blog!

Hey Everyone!
I am abandoning this blog and have imported all the old posts into a new one. You will find my new one here.
My new blog will not be emailing anyone when I post something new anymore. So if you used to get emails on the very rare occasions I wrote something, you will now be on your own!

Hope you enjoy the new look of it! You can check it out now, as I actually just posed something about a yummy dinner we had last week!!

Thanks! Hope you enjoy the rest of the weekend!

A Whole Year of Bitter!

So, as I watch the Westminster Dog Show, I am reminded of the kick-ass Peep diorama we made last year for the Washington Post Peep Diorama contest. Apparently, The Washington Post judges were blind fools, as we didn't even get an Honorable Mention. You would think I would have gotten over it by now - you know "poor sport", "sore loser", whatever. But, nope! I still think we were robbed! Maybe now that I got that off my chest, I can move on...
You can see the real winners here.

robbed, robbed, robbed!
Bastards!

My first "gig"!

2/6/2009 Hank's Saloon (edited version) from Courtney Burns on Vimeo.

So, here is the video of my first performance with my guitar class. I started taking lessons at the Brooklyn Guitar School a few months ago. I started with a 10-week "Absolute Beginners" class. Now, I have just begun my "Intermediate Beginners" class. So, that is why I still suck. But, someday I will be good!! Just you wait and see!

My guitar school has somewhat regular shows at a pretty divey bar called Hank's Saloon. It gives the students and the instructors an opportunity to show off. This is the first one my class participated in. My instructor is the singer and the crowd was nice enough to take care of the back up singing for us. It was a lot of fun and I am looking forward to the next one!

Hope you enjoy!! (haha)

Snowy Morning

We had a bit of snow this morning, so here are a few pictures of Sascha frolicking about.

Well, maybe frolicking isn't really the right word...

Someone had a good new year's eve...

We came home last night to find this awaiting us:

Just when you thought the Christmas presents were safe...
I bet that peanut butter was tasty!
